SUMMARYÂ
Provide excellent customer service. Â Promote safety and security of park visitors, employees, buildings, and grounds. Â Transport mail, money, and personnel as needed.
Â
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESÂ include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
ÂMust be available to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Average work week will be 16-24 hours. Shifts will primarily be 3pm—11pm any day of the week, 6pm—2am on Friday and/or Saturday, and 11pm—7am any day of the week as needed. Scheduled days are not set and will change weekly.Â

Maintain an accurate shift report.
Â
Assist with guests and employees with disabled vehicles providing whatever reasonable service possible.
Â
Patrols park grounds and buildings.
Â
Examines doors, windows, and gates to ensure that they are secure. Â Makes sure that security systems are armed.
Â
Interprets park rules and regulations. Â Enforces rules w/discretion & calls law enforcement for serious violations.
Â
Opens or secures facilities, and arms or disarms security systems as needed.
Â
Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, maintenance problems, nonworking security lights, and security doors left unlocked.
Â
Responds to all calls received on a priority basis makes routine patrols of zoo during closed hours. Â Responds to reports of incidents, theft, personal injury, and accidents and records and reports activity as required.
Â
Reports and investigates any unusual occurrence, suspicious activity, suspicious person(s), or vehicle(s).
Â
Controls and monitors traffic and parking on Oglebay grounds.
Â
Provides information and directions to park guests.
Â
Assists law enforcement or fire agencies' requests for aid on park property or nearby area.Â
Â
Monitors picnic reservations. Issues picnic permits, and ensures that proper people are at sites and shelters. Â Ensures that all picnic rules and regulations are maintained.
Â
Checks interiors of buildings to turn security lights on, or other lights off. Â Reports safety hazards.
Â
Picks up and delivers revenue and mail from various departments.
Â
Jumps car batteries, assists guests w/flat tire by helping change tire or calling someone for them. Â Transports guests to a facility when asked if available to help.
Â
Other duties as assigned by Operations Director or Manager.
Â
Interact with the public with a cheerful and positive attitude, solve guest problems and complaints in a proper manner, and maintain harmonious working relationships with fellow employees.
