Job Position: Special Education Teacher
Location: Near Highland Park, IL | Therapeutic Day School Setting
Pay Rate: $45$55 per hour, based on experience
Shift: 8:00 AM 2:30 PM
Description:
Birch Agency is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join one of our partner therapeutic day schools near Highland Park, Illinois. This program serves an all-male student population and is designed to support students with specialized academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
Position Details:
Schedule: 8:00 AM 2:30 PM
Setting: Therapeutic Day School
Caseload: All-male student population
Pay Rate: $45$55 per hour, based on experience
Start: 20252026 school year (or specify start if needed)
Requirements:
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with the appropriate Special Education endorsement
Experience working with students in therapeutic or highly structured settings preferred
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities:
Provide individualized and small-group instruction
Implement IEP goals and accommodations
Support students academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development
Maintain a safe and structured classroom environment
Collaborate with staff, therapists, and administration
