Position Summary: The Process Control Inspector is responsible for monitoring manufacturing processes, workmanship standards, and product quality throughout the facility to ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering requirements, internal procedures, and quality expectations.

This role conducts routine production floor walkthroughs, identifies process deviations and quality concerns, documents findings, and communicates issues to production and quality leadership to help prevent larger manufacturing or customer-related quality issues. The Process Control Inspector serves as a proactive quality presence within the facility and supports continuous improvement across all departments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine walkthroughs and audits throughout manufacturing departments to monitor workmanship, process adherence, and product quality.
  • Identify and document process deviations, workmanship concerns, and non-conforming conditions involving weld quality, paint coverage, assembly practices, labeling, and finished products.
  • Inspect transformers, transformer components, and assemblies to verify compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, and internal quality standards.
  • Create and distribute inspection reports, including written findings and photographic documentation of quality concerns.
  • Communicate quality findings, recurring issues, and process concerns to production supervisors and Quality leadership.
  • Support proactive resolution of manufacturing and quality issues before escalation into major production or customer concerns.
  • Verify compliance with established manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and ISO quality standards.
  • Utilize measuring tools and inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures as needed.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and audit documentation.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous manufacturing quality inspection, process auditing, or quality control experience preferred.
  • Experience in a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment is strongly preferred.
  • Transformer manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the manufacturing facility for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, and visual inspection of products and processes.
  • Ability to use measuring devices, inspection tools, cameras, and computer equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to work in varying manufacturing conditions including heat, noise, dust, and around moving equipment.

Working Conditions:

  • Manufacturing plant environment with frequent exposure to production equipment, welding operations, paint areas, and industrial noise.
  • Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs.
  • Shift schedules are subject to change based on operational requirements.
