We are seeking an experienced Anatomic Pathology Operations Manager in Laboratory Unit to oversee daily laboratory operations, staff performance, quality programs, regulatory compliance, and departmental initiatives. This role provides leadership to pathology and laboratory staff while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality services.

Hours Per Pay Period: 75
Sign-On Bonus: $20,000
Salary: $111,376.98–$167,066.06/year
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and supervise pathology, histology, cytology, and laboratory staff
- Ensure compliance with laboratory, regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards
- Manage staff hiring, training, competency, performance evaluations, and development
- Oversee quality control programs and prepare quality reports
- Monitor turnaround times, workflow, and departmental performance
- Develop departmental goals, budgets, and operational plans
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams and external vendors
- Support laboratory technology, software, instrumentation, and system improvements
- Maintain accurate documentation, payroll, schedules, and staff records
- Participate in performance improvement projects, committees, and leadership initiatives
- Serve as a mentor, coach, and resource for staff
- Ensure a safe, professional, and customer-focused work environment
- Perform supervisory duties as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Technology or related science required
- 4+ years of relevant hospital experience; 6 years preferred
- Supervisory experience in Anatomic Pathology/Histology required
- Current NYS license as one of the following:
- Clinical Laboratory Technologist
- Cytotechnologist
- Histotechnologist
- Pathologists’ Assistant
- Clinical Laboratory Technologist
- ASCP certification preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to departmental needs
- Strong attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, and stress tolerance
