Job DetailsJob Location: Indiana County YMCA Legal Address - Indiana, PA 15701Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $13.00 - $16.00 HourlyJob Shift: Day - M-FThe YMCA of Indiana County is seeking a Licensed Child Care Group Supervisor to lead a preschool classroom and deliver high-quality, developmentally appropriate programming. This role is responsible for planning and implementing curriculum, supervising children and staff, maintaining a safe and engaging environment, and supporting children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development. The Group Supervisor also builds positive relationships with families, ensures compliance with licensing regulations, and collaborates with leadership to support program success. Key Responsibilities: Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and daily activities Supervise children and ensure a safe, inclusive environment Support child development through structured play and learning Observe, assess, and document children’s progress Guide behavior using positive reinforcement strategies Communicate regularly with families and conduct conferences as needed Maintain accurate attendance, records, and compliance documentation Ensure health, safety, and cleanliness standards are met Supervise and support Assistant Group Supervisors and Aides Participate in staff meetings, training, and program development Report incidents and suspected abuse in accordance with regulations  Work Environment: Fast-paced, child-centered setting with moderate noise levels and frequent physical activity. QualificationsCandidates must meet one of the following Pennsylvania licensing requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or related field; OR Bachelor’s degree (any field) with 30 relevant credits + 1 year experience with children; OR Associate’s degree in a related field + 2 years experience; OR Associate’s degree (any field) with 30 relevant credits + 3 years experience Required Clearances & Certifications (at hire or within specified timeframe): PA Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprints, PA Criminal Clearance (PATCH), NSOR Staff Health Assessment and TB test (within 12 months) Mandated Reporter Training and 10 hours DHS training Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED (within 60 days) Skills & Requirements: Experience working with children ages 3–5 Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Knowledge of child development and early learning practices Ability to lead staff and manage a classroom environment Ability to remain professional in a fast-paced setting Commitment to YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and participate in active play Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
