Our vision for this position is to lead his/her team in achieving all plant and departmental objectives within their scope of responsibility and manage the operational systems of the department to ensure compliance and successful execution by performing the following duties:

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Scheduling of people, machines, materials, and support services to achieve maximum team efficiency in meeting production requirements.
  • Ensure team members are trained to guarantee proper skill sets are developed and improved daily.
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.
  • Effectively communicate with peers, team members, customers (internal and external), suppliers, and technical staff.
  • Facilitate team meetings.
  • Ensure performance evaluations and counseling sessions are conducted in a constructive manner.
  • Translate company objectives in EHS, 5-S, quality (ISO, IATF), maintenance and reliability, and production into action plans.
  • Review work schedules and estimate manpower requirements to complete job assignments. 
  • Approve hourly team members' time and manage schedules
  • Lead, coach, and hold accountable the team members to company policies and safety regulations.
  • Work with the Human Resources Department to hire, train, and develop maintenance personnel in the execution of their responsibilities.
Qualifications

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides leadership and coaching to Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Team Leaders.  Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent; and/ two years of leadership responsibility in high-paced industrial maintenance and/or training and 5 years overall maintenance experience in a multi-craft environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Strong math skills, problem-solving skills, and verbal and written skills.  Must have a strong electrical/mechanical background and have demonstrated experience in the following areas

  • Light to Medium voltage gear.
  • AC and DC drives.
  • Fundamental understanding of steam generation systems
  • Fundamental understanding of compressed air systems and their components
  • Fundamental understanding of chiller systems and closed water loops
  • Experience managing boiler water treatment
  • Experience managing wastewater treatment systems
  • Computer Maintenance Manufacturing Systems (CMMS) experience.
  • Holding team members accountable to company policies and expectations (corrective actions, recognition)
  • Basic mechanical best practices (bearings, gears, belt drives, torque settings, balancing, vibration, pumping systems, couplings, fans, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office suite (mainly Excel and word processing)
