About the Opportunity:
The Special Process Operator position is responsible for preparing equipment, components, and materials for use during the special production process, developing and improving special processes, and solving problems in a specific manufacturing specialty area.
Location: Whitesboro, NY
This role will be onsite 100% of the time.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares parts for thermal spray application including reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints, cleaning, masking, grit blasting parts, and other preparation required for successful thermal spray applications
- Sets up and operates six axis robots for the plasma spray system utilizing the available technical data and spray schedules for coatings
- Performs thermal coating operation on parts referring to technical data and customer instructions as required
- Maintains the equipment in operational status, repairs parts for continuity of spray operations, and ensures consumables are in adequate supply
- Loads Vacuum and Atmosphere Heat Treatment Furnaces per required specifications
- Works to close tolerances; performing and understanding inspection techniques and measuring tools
- Ensures compliance with the provisions of the OHS act and regulations; uses and/or wears proper equipment, protective devices, or clothing required by employer
- Reports to management the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device which may be of potential danger to workers, any contravention of the act or regulations, and the existence of any known hazards
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of manufacturing techniques in metal fabricating, welding, or machining
- Working knowledge using thermal spray equipment preferably plasma, HVOF, and flame spray
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
- Manual dexterity
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and participate with team members
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to identify problems and develop effective solutions
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Ability to meet deadlines
Physical Requirements:
