We are currently searching for a Machine Operators and Assistant Operators for our Whitestown, IN location. If you have experience or the desire to learn, we want to talk to you! We offer a competitive salary that is based on specific industry and machine knowledge and experience.

What You Will Do:

  • Set up and operate a specialty corrugated machine for a variety of corrugated box styles and specialty products.
  • Read and interpret production orders, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Perform machine adjustments to ensure proper glue application, folding, alignment, and finished product quality.
  • Conduct first-piece and in-process quality inspections.
  • Monitor production speeds and minimize downtime through effective troubleshooting.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and keep equipment clean and organized.
  • Work closely with supervisors, maintenance, quality, and converting teams to maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
  • Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and housekeeping expectations.

What you need to be successful at Opus Packaging:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedural documents.
  • Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Work safely.

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Previous experience in warehouse or packaging environment.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to properly use and understand the required measurement equipment including tape measures, micrometers, and other tools as required by specific jobs.

During a normal workday you can expect to:

  • Bend, reach, stoop, squat and stand for 8 hours.
  • Have good hand- eye coordination.
  • Occasional lifting of 50 pounds and frequent lifting of 10-20 pounds.
  • Understand machine set-up, machine runs, plant data entry, handwork, or assembly assignments.
