We are currently searching for a Machine Operators and Assistant Operators for our Whitestown, IN location. If you have experience or the desire to learn, we want to talk to you! We offer a competitive salary that is based on specific industry and machine knowledge and experience.

What You Will Do:

Set up and operate a specialty corrugated machine for a variety of corrugated box styles and specialty products.
Read and interpret production orders, specifications, and customer requirements.
Perform machine adjustments to ensure proper glue application, folding, alignment, and finished product quality.
Conduct first-piece and in-process quality inspections.
Monitor production speeds and minimize downtime through effective troubleshooting.
Perform routine preventive maintenance and keep equipment clean and organized.
Work closely with supervisors, maintenance, quality, and converting teams to maximize efficiency.
Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and housekeeping expectations.

What you need to be successful at Opus Packaging:

Must be 18 years or older.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedural documents.
Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
Work safely.

It’d be great if you also have:

Previous experience in warehouse or packaging environment.
Basic math skills.
Ability to properly use and understand the required measurement equipment including tape measures, micrometers, and other tools as required by specific jobs.

During a normal workday you can expect to:

Bend, reach, stoop, squat and stand for 8 hours.
Have good hand- eye coordination.
Occasional lifting of 50 pounds and frequent lifting of 10-20 pounds.
Understand machine set-up, machine runs, plant data entry, handwork, or assembly assignments.
