Job DetailsJob Location: Sun Hydraulics 701 - Sarasota, FL 34243Job Summary:  The Facilities Maintenance Technician Lead serves as the primary hands-on technician responsible for ensuring all buildings, equipment, utilities, and grounds are maintained to the highest standards. This role collaborates with internal departments and external vendors to support operational goals, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a safe working environment. 90% of time executing hands-on repairs, preventative maintenance, and mechanical troubleshooting alongside team, 10% of time dedicated to workflow coordination, safety collaboration, and peer support. This position reports directly to the Technical Services Manager.      Duties/Responsibilities:  Maintenance and repair of building infrastructure, HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and production-support equipment.  Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce facilities equipment failures and extend asset life.  Perform a daily walk to make sure that critical building systems are operating normally and to perform a brief inspection of the facilities.  Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, local safety regulations, and environmental standards; conduct regular audits and safety inspections.  Manage facility-related projects, including renovations, expansions, and equipment installations, while adhering to budgets and timelines.  Vendor relationships for contracted services (janitorial, landscaping, waste management, security, fire protection systems, elevators, manlifts maintenance, etc.).  Work with utility companies to ensure safe and reliable operation of building and production equipment.  Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and permits.  Respond to and resolve emergency situations (equipment breakdowns, safety incidents, power outages) promptly.  Receive calls from monitoring services when there are alarms on security and fire systems and take appropriate action      Required Skills/Abilities:   Strong knowledge of building systems, industrial equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA).  Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems maintenance and operation  Ability to lead a small team, distribute work fairly and ensure adequate training and personnel development of the facilities team  Ability to keep track of and report on activity  Experience in planning maintenance operations  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills  Develop and maintain strong internal/external relationships  Competence in problem solving, planning, and decision making    Education and Experience:  Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Facilities Maintenance Technology, Facilities Maintenance Technician, or an equivalent Trade Certificate (preferred).  5+ years of facilities maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.  Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.    Physical & Work Requirements:   Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in and around machinery, including at heights or in confined spaces as needed.  Adherence to required PPE and working safely in a manufacturing environment and conform to safety Standards.   Willingness to be available on off-shifts or on-call as required.  Qualifications
