ESSENTIAL DUTIESÂ
- Supervises swimming activities at the pools and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followedÂ
- Advises swimmers of improper activities or dangers and enforces pool regulations and water safety policiesÂ
- Responds to emergencies and administers first aid when necessaryÂ
- Ability to work independentlyÂ
- Maintain focus at a high level for extended periods of timeÂ
- Evaluate conditions for safety and activate the emergency action plan if necessaryÂ
- Complete daily opening/closing procedure checklistsÂ
- Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usableÂ
- Assists with pool chemical tests and records results accordinglyÂ
- Ability to communicate effectively with patrons, co-workers, and managementÂ
- Perform other related duties as assignedÂ
QUALIFICATIONSÂ
MinimumÂ
- Must be at least 16 years of age and be able to obtain a work permit if under the age of 18Â
- Be able to work a minimum of 3 days a week and have weekend and holiday availabilityÂ
- Reliability and commitment to scheduled shiftsÂ
- Candidate must be enthusiastic, outgoing, and willing to interact with the publicÂ
- Reliable transportationÂ
- Be able to obtain and maintain a StarGuard Elite Lifeguard CertificationÂ
- Swimming proficiency and feels comfortable in the waterÂ
PreferredÂ
- Have prior lifeguard experienceÂ
- StarGuard Elite Lifeguard CertificationÂ
- Bilingual in both English and SpanishÂ
