Summary of Essential Functions

  • This individual will provide application systems support and be responsible for collaborating with systems business/clinical personnel and serve as technical resources to identify, analyze, prioritize, and resolve system needs; use cases, workflow and metrics to configure, maintain and monitor system use.
  • Provide suggestions for potential application modifications, enhancements or business process changes as appropriate.

 

Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • University degree in Healthcare, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related subject preferred, not required. Work experience may be considered as substitute for degree
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

 

Licensure and Certifications

  • Must obtain and keep current all certifications required to support assigned applications

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Experience in healthcare, business or operation setting or functional and/or systems analysis and reporting experience.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment to plan and accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to provide support for systems/applications.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of health care operations and the application of information technology to aid and improve health care functions.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily works the day shift tour of duty; may be asked to work additional hours as needed, including weekends.
  • Will be required to take rotating call to support the applications
  • May be expected to lift over twenty-five (25) pounds.
  • Ability to distinguish between numbers and symbols.
  • Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity with substantial movement of wrist and/or fingers. Walking and climbing to accomplish tasks.
  • Corrected vision and hearing to normal or near normal range.
  • Extended periods of sitting and/or walking depending on specific duties.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development and design of the application(s).
  • Develop and maintain functional specifications and operational process flows, or other necessary documentation for approved system enhancements or modifications.
  • Provide technical resource to identify, analyze, prioritize, and resolve system needs
  • Able to use cases, work flows and metrics to configure, maintain and monitor systems
  • Provides support for potential application modifications, enhancements or business process changes as appropriate as well as advising business and technical counterparts regarding current system functionality
  • Builds, tests, and debugs application(s) to ensure the system meets end user requirements, involving end users in the process and testing when appropriate.
  • Produce and provide analysis through reports, dashboards, and analytic tools to management
  • Adheres to organizational policies and procedures and documents change control and system problems according to departmental procedures.
  • Collaborates with operational leaders, user groups and key stakeholders to review and prioritize system enhancements and upgrade
  • Collaborates with technical resources on projects, and systems maintenance to ensure the needs of the business are met
  • Communicates effectively with users, colleagues, and developers.
  • Supports multiple concurrent projects and/or application modules.
  • Completes task on time as assigned to meet SLAs and project deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills in managing multiple priorities
  • Uses critical thinking skills to develop and support clinical and business software applications
  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and flexibility in problem resolution
  • Demonstrates commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Works under the direction of leadership to complete projects, achieve goals and meet departmental and organizational KPIs.
  • Adheres to departmental policies and processes for ticket management and SLAs
  • Performs other tasks/responsibilities as necessary.
