Position Overview:  A Licensed Journeyman Plumber is responsible for performing installs, repairs, and maintenance to a variety of commercial plumbing systems. He or she must be deeply familiar with pipe fittings, plumbing fixtures, pipes, among other aspects creating a functioning plumbing system.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, plan, and perform service and repair of plumbing systems.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and make appropriate modifications to plumbing systems.
  • Ensure that structures are in excellent working condition upon completion of each project.
  • Strong proficiency in troubleshooting and repair.
  • Adhere to all city, state, and federal regulatory statutes.
  • Ability to read basic plumbing schematics.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Capability to install all types of piping.
  • Manage competing demands and frequent changes in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use proper PPE.
  • Properly maintain a clean work environment, and clean work area after completion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Requirements:

May be asked to assume responsibility for certain jobs that may require the supervision of others. 

 

 

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Proficient Verbal and Written English language skills.
  • Proficient ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure – using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to follow and carry out both written and verbal instructions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to arrive on time daily.
  • Ability to follow and perform procedures and troubleshoot problems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Ability to safely use ladders in performance of job duties including climbing/descending from a ladder.
  • Ability to work at heights above ground floor level.
  • Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
  • Ability to use a tape measure, cut & drill holes.
  • Demonstration of proper and safe use of tools, related equipment, and personal protection equipment.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively individually and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently in commercial and construction settings.
  • Always maintain professional business acumen.

 

Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Current Texas Journeyman License or higher required.
  • 4 years of plumbing experience required.
  • OSHA 10 Certification preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurability with company insurance carrier.
  • Ability to operate backhoe and/or excavators preferred.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Workweeks are 5 Days: Monday through Friday.
  • 30 minutes to 1 hour of Unpaid Time for Lunch is recommended.
  • Start Time is 7:30 AM, End Time is 4:00 PM.
  • Overtime will be required on an as needed basis.
  • Travel and overnight stays may be required.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Authorized to work in the U.S. - E-Verify System is used to verify employment eligibility.
  • May be subject to Pre-Employment drug and alcohol tests, and background investigation.
