Position Summary

The Assisted Living Director provides leadership to ensure residents are cared for, employees are valued, families are engaged, and resources are stewarded while overseeing the coordination and provision of life engagement, healthcare coordination, food service, sales, and maintenance services.


Essential Functions

Leadership and Staff Development

  • Support the hiring, onboarding, and development of staff that provide exceptional service and care for our residents
  • In partnership with the Executive Director and Resident Care Director, develop programs that enhance Team Member engagement and maximize productivity
  • Set clear behavioral expectations and performance objectives for meeting expectations and achieving objectives for the community
  • Consistently communicate clarity of purpose and strategic objectives to staff


Sales

  • Develop a sales culture within the community, ensuring that every team member understands the role they play in growing and maintaining occupancy
  • Initiate new and nurture existing relationships with health care providers, referral sources and resident families to increase the referral base for the community
  • Facilitate educational and networking events for the community and stakeholder network to spread the message about the community
  • Assist with community tours and move-in processes for new residents
  • Partner with Community Sales Director to ensure community is visible within the market and beyond.


Operations Management

  • Maintain an innovative staffing schedule that maximizes efficiency while ensuring exceptional resident care
  • Knowledgeable of state regulations
  • Partner with Executive Director and Resident Care Director to ensure all state reportable incidents are reported, investigation is completed and submitted within the timeline required
  • Assist the Executive Director with overall operations support as needed


Operational and Clinical Compliance

  • Participate in the preparation and facilitation of periodic operational and clinical compliance audits, both self-audit and required external audits
  • Ensure all health care related services are provided in accordance with all state and third-party accreditation regulations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience working in a senior living community
  • Equivalent years of career experience in a similar capacity may be considered
  • Associate’s degree in business or relevant industry discipline


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a relevant industry discipline
  • Three (3) years of experience leading a senior living community
  • Kansas Operator’s license


Physical Working Requirements

  • Ability to travel using personal vehicle, including at night
  • Able to do occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • Able to work flexible schedule, including evenings and/or weekends
  • Team Member is subject to outside environment conditions occasionally, inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change
