Graphic Department Assistant Manager

Are you creative, organized, and ready to take the next step into a leadership role? LDF Sales & Distributing is looking for a Graphic Department Assistant Manager to help lead the day-to-day operations of our Graphics Department while remaining actively involved in design and production.

This role is ideal for someone who can balance creativity, production, organization, and team support in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

We’re a fast-growing, high-performance beverage distributor serving Kansas and Oklahoma. Founded in 1983 by Larry D. Fleming, we market, sell, and distribute beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages from some of the industry’s most respected brands.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Graphics Manager with daily department operations, workflow, project prioritization, and production scheduling
  • Partner with internal teams to understand graphic needs, recommend solutions, manage expectations, and coordinate project timelines
  • Design and produce large-format signs, banners, POS materials, displays, and promotional graphics
  • Prepare, review, and proof artwork to ensure accuracy, quality, and brand standards
  • Operate printers, plotters/vinyl cutters, and finishing equipment
  • Create, cut, weed, mask, apply, and occasionally install vinyl graphics
  • Assist with training, coaching, and supporting Graphics Department team members
  • Monitor production materials and assist with inventory, shipping, and receiving
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow, organization, and production efficiency
  • Serve as a backup to the Graphics Department Manager and provide department leadership when needed

Must-Haves

  • Experience in graphic design, print production, sign production, or a related field
  • Experience working in a high-volume graphics or print production environment
  • Hands-on experience managing graphic projects from initial design and file preparation through printing, finishing, and final delivery
  • Working knowledge of CorelDRAW and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong understanding of large-format print production, including file formats, sizing, resolution, color, and print quality
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to proof artwork and catch errors before production
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
  • Strong customer-service mindset with the ability to understand requests, solve problems, and recommend practical solutions
  • Ability to balance creative thinking and attention to detail across both customized design projects and high-volume production work
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and provide support and direction to others
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous leadership, team lead, supervisory, or project coordination experience
  • Experience with FlexiPRINT or similar RIP and production software
  • Experience troubleshooting large-format printers, plotters, vinyl cutters, and finishing equipment
  • Experience with vinyl production, including cutting, weeding, masking, application, and installation
  • Familiarity with AI-powered creative tools, including ChatGPT and other generative AI platforms
