 Job Title: Quality Inspector - Machining

Employee Type: Full Time, Hourly 

Reports to: Machining Manager

Job Location: Wichita, KS, USA

Shift: 2nd Shift; Monday-Friday, 2:00pm – 10:30pm

Pay Range:  $19.00 - $24.00/hr, Depending upon experience

Shift Differential: $0.75 per hour

Experience: 3+ years of practical in-process and final inspection of complex machined parts, preferred but nor required.  Willing to train exceptional candidate.

 Job Duties:

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections on large aluminium machined parts. (<20+ feet) 
  • Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, industry standards, and specifications. 
  • Read and interpret models (Catia), Drawings, and Parts lists 
  • Apply attention to detail to Drawings, Production Processes, Work Orders, etc 
  • Verifies completion of Quality documents and accurate representation of product flow throughout the process 
  • Use measuring tools such as calliper's, micrometer, height gage, and dial indicators as needed
  • Create NCRs as needed if parts are non-conforming.

 Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of quality inspection experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment, preferred
  • Experience with aerospace machining inspection, preferred
  • Must possess excellent communication skills both written and oral. 
  • Ability to work on a team as well as independently.
  • Must have strong organizational skills. 
  • Must be dependable and have reliable transportation to work.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office applications. 
  • Must be able to read, analyse, and interpret blueprints, and general procedures.
  • Must be able to interpret and understand OEM specifications
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, callipers, height gages, Isoscope etc.)
  • Detail oriented, team player, and very organized with the ability to multi-task
  • Comprehension of machining process 
  • Flexible schedule to work overtime and shift work as needed
  • Flexible to assist other departments as needed.

 Working Conditions:

  • Some overtime may be necessary with or without notice
  • The essential duties job may require the ability to stoop; to reach; to stand, and to walk for extended periods of time; to push and/or pull objects weighing up to 30 pounds; to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to use finger dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment and hand strength to grasp files and other objects; to perceive the attributes of objects by touch; to hear and verbally exchange ideas and information with the public, staff and others in the office.  Frequently being on foot, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climb stairs and kneeling and/or crouch to retrieve files and other items. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate small power tools and other equipment. Writing to complete reports and service requests.  Occasionally Lifting and carrying (with assistance) items weighing 75-150 lbs. Must be able to wear safety PPE equipment, as required. Noise levels may require hearing protection.
