Medical Scribe
About the Job: The Medical Scribe is responsible for accompanying physician’s into the patient exam rooms in order to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician’s encounter with the patient and others present.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensures patient charts are fully prepared for provider review prior to clinic to support efficient, coordinated care.  Chart prepping involves reviewing the next day’s patient schedule, confirming all necessary documentation is in place (labs, imaging, consult notes), updating patient information in the EMR, and flagging any missing or incomplete items for the provider prior to clinic.
- Transcribing patient history and physical exam
- Accurately documenting physician’s encounter with patient
- Listing all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as, follow-up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician
- Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications
- Document any procedures completed by the physician
- Ability to stand, walk or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information
- Perform other duties as assigned

Set Yourself Apart: Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- CNA or Registered Medical Assistant Preferred
- One-year experience in an orthopedic or physical therapy setting preferred
- 6 months experience as a scribe preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work and multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Team player, positive attitude, willingness to adapt to change
