We might be a perfect fit for you! Position Summary: Assist in providing a safe and secure environment for patients and staff. Responsibilities  Promotes patient safety through awareness of the environment of care and in all actions that involve patient care. Communicates patient safety issues quickly, clearly and effectively with other staff members. Assists in the implementation of security protocols and campus safety. May attend the Nursing report sessions to become more familiar with patient community issues. Makes rounds and inspections at a minimum of one time per hour to check and secure campus buildings, recreation, and other public areas. Makes visual checks “in-person” contact with direct patient care staff throughout work hours. Notifies supervisor of any conditions or incidents affecting staff and / or patient safety Provides intervention and / or crowd control and direction on any situation of concern for the safety and welfare of patients, staff, visitors, and vendors. Is familiar with all emergency and Disaster Preparedness policies. May assist in the investigation of criminal activities involving patients and assists administration with prosecution as appropriate. Completes security logs and incidents report in a timely manner prior to leaving shift. QualificationsEducation and Experience: High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) required CPI, CPR / First Aid. Valid State Drivers License. Peace Officer or professional security experience and / or training preferred.
