Job Summary This position works on a small crew of farm laborers performing a variety of organic farming related tasks as directed by the crew leader, including but not limited to; seeding and propagation, planting, weeding, watering, pest management and harvesting a wide variety of medicinal herbs and plants, thereby contributing to the successful growth of the organization. Key Responsibilities Supports overall farm production by assisting with soil and seed preparation, fertilizing, transplanting, irrigating, weeding, and harvesting crops as directed; identifies and reports any signs of crop disease or pest issues to the crew leader. Contributes to optimal harvest yields by following established procedures for picking, sorting, cleaning, drying, and evaluating herb quality, while supporting proper post-harvest handling and timely crop delivery. Works under the direction of the lead farmer to maintain effective irrigation systems, including installing, adjusting, and maintaining drip and sprinkler systems seasonally in coordination with the farm crew..   Other Duties/Requirements Follows detailed oral and written instructions and works effectively both independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision. Demonstrates strong attention to detail with basic math and computer skills; able to identify issues, troubleshoot, and resolve problems as needed. Actively participates in team meetings, contributing ideas for continuous process improvement and supporting cross-functional farm and irrigation teams. Supports collaboration and teamwork by assisting across crews and maintaining a positive, cooperative work environment. Occasionally travels for errands and deliveries as directed. Safely operates hand tools and small power tools by following instructions, completing required training, and maintaining proper tool storage. Maintains a strong commitment to workplace safety by following all procedures, participating in safety training, and proactively identifying hazards.   Required Education and Experience High school diploma or GED 1 + years of related hands-on seasonal farming experience, or equivalent education Familiarity with the cultivation of herbs preferred Working Conditions Work Environment: Primarily outdoors, working in all weather conditions Travel Requirements: 10% Physical Demands: This job requires some lifting of 49 lbs. or less.
