ProWest is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Preconstruction Services Manager to help lead the planning and development of projects before construction begins. This role is critical in ensuring projects are set up for success by focusing on coordination, constructability, procurement strategy, and early risk identification.
This is not a pure estimating role; instead, you’ll work across teams to develop practical, well-coordinated solutions that support project budgets, schedules, and overall constructability.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support preconstruction efforts on pursuits, awarded projects, and potential projects in developmentÂ
- Review drawings, specifications, and proposals to identify scope, logistics, and constructability considerationsÂ
- Collaborate with estimators, project teams, and trade partners to support budgets and bid deliverablesÂ
- Help develop bidder lists, outreach strategies, and subcontractor participation plansÂ
- Coordinate bid communications and support subcontractor proposal developmentÂ
- Participate in scope review meetings to clarify inclusions, exclusions, and gapsÂ
- Assist in reviewing subcontractor proposals for completeness and alignmentÂ
- Support constructability reviews and coordinate input across stakeholdersÂ
- Identify risks, procurement challenges, long-lead items, and schedule impactsÂ
- Assist with logistics planning, project phasing, and site coordinationÂ
- Contribute to value engineering efforts and propose practical alternativesÂ
- Prepare preconstruction deliverables, including budgets, estimates, schedules, and reportsÂ
- Track action items, design decisions, and deadlinesÂ
- Participate in meetings with owners, architects, consultants, and internal teamsÂ
- Support project transitions from preconstruction to constructionÂ
- Visit project sites as needed to assess conditions and constraintsÂ
Qualifications:
- 5–10+ years of experience in preconstruction, project management, construction, or related fieldÂ
- DBIA and LEED credentials preferred
- Strong understanding of construction documents, trade scopes, scheduling, and procurementÂ
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyÂ
- Working knowledge of estimating and budgeting processesÂ
- Experience reviewing subcontractor proposals and identifying scope gapsÂ
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsÂ
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and construction management toolsÂ
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related fieldÂ
- Field experienceÂ
- Experience with K-12, higher education, healthcare, or public works projectsÂ
- Familiarity with California agency work and local subcontractor marketsÂ
- Experience with conceptual budgeting, scheduling, or value engineeringÂ
