Job Summary
St. Bridget of Kildare Catholic School is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Extended Care Aide to support students participating in the school's Extended Care Program. The Extended Care Aide provides supervision and care for students before and/or after the regular school day, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that reflects the values and mission of Catholic education.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, demonstrates patience and professionalism, and is committed to fostering a positive atmosphere where students feel welcomed, respected, and supported.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide active supervision of students participating in the Extended Care Program.
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and security of all students at all times.
- Monitor student attendance, arrivals, dismissals, and parent/guardian pick-up procedures.
- Enforce school and Extended Care Program rules and behavioral expectations consistently and fairly.
- Respond appropriately to student needs, illnesses, injuries, and emergencies in accordance with school policies and procedures.
- Assist with planning, organizing, and facilitating age-appropriate activities, games, crafts, and recreational opportunities.
- Supervise homework and quiet study periods, providing guidance and encouragement as needed.
- Support indoor and outdoor activities while maintaining a safe environment.
- Assist with snack distribution and cleanup following program guidelines.
- Prepare and maintain activity areas and supplies.
