Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and manage the Benefits Team to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Prepare and manage the annual benefits budget, including ongoing monitoring and financial reporting.
- Oversee Open Enrollment activities, including benefits system administration, data integrity, vendor coordination, employee communications, and event planning.
- Maintain strong partnerships with brokers, consultants, insurance carriers, and vendors to ensure responsive customer service and cost-effective plan administration.
- Create relationships with field leadership to build relationships and credibility with benefit processes and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable benefits regulations and reporting requirements, including ACA mandates, audits, notices, filings, and non-discrimination testing.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee awareness, understanding, and engagement with benefit programs.
- Review and reconcile monthly benefits billing and pre-billing reports for accuracy.
- Coordinate and maintain carrier and ADP file feeds to support accurate benefits administration and reporting.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Director of Human Resources.
- Administer medical leaves, including FMLA, ADA, short-term disability, long-term disability, and other leave of absence programs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable leave laws, regulations, and company policies while providing guidance to employees and management regarding leave administration.
- Audit the accuracy and performance of functions performed by benefits staff.
- All other duties assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of Benefits Administration experience preferred, with demonstrated knowledge of health, welfare, retirement, and leave programs.
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and team development skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate staff.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now Benefits or similar HRIS/benefits administration systems preferred.
- Strong knowledge of applicable benefits laws and regulations, including ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, and other compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of energy, professionalism, and customer service with the ability to effectively interact with employees, leadership, vendors, and external partners at all organizational levels.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and employee communication skills, with the ability to explain complex benefits of information in a clear and understandable manner.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, particularly in coordinating Open Enrollment, vendor implementations, communications campaigns, and benefits-related initiatives.
- Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive matters with empathy and professionalism.
