Job Summary:

Geisinger is seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our NICU team in the Geisinger Northeast Regional Neonatology Division, consisting of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center (GWV) in Wilkes-Barre, PA and Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC) in Scranton, PA. The GWV service is centered around a private room Level 3 NICU and the GCMC service is centered around a private room Level 2 NICU; both NICUs are located immediately adjacent to their respective labor and delivery service. By working in a collaborative environment alongside highly trained neonatologists, leadership, residents, and our NICU nursing staff, you will have the opportunity to grow your skills and create a long-lasting career where innovation and learning are encouraged and supported. Job Duties:

Opportunity Details

  • Network NICU Coverage (Level 3 NICU; 14 beds, expanding to 20 beds & Level 2 NICU; 7 beds under development)

  • 2,000+ deliveries annually

  • Flexible shift combinations (8hr, 16hr, and 24hr shifts)

  • No outpatient clinic

Essential Responsibilities

  • Attending deliveries/delivery room management of all infants less than 35 weeks and other high-risk indications

  • Admissions including history and physical

  • Assessments and ongoing management of current NICU patients

  • Intubation

  • Umbilical line placement

  • Chest tubes

  • Arterial puncture

  • Arterial line placement

  • Ventilator management

  • Others as applicable

Position Details:

Bachelor's Degree-Physician Assistant (Required), Master's Degree-Physician Assistant (Preferred)

Experience:

Certification(s) and License(s):

Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body, Certified Physician Assistant - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
