Job Summary:

Geisinger is seeking a board certified Pulmonary and Critical Care physician to serve as Director of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at Geisinger Wyoming Valley. This leadership opportunity is ideal for a physician interested in innovation, team development, passion for quality care and collaboration with interdisciplinary departments.

The Director will play a key role in advancing clinical excellence, fostering program growth, and shaping a mission driven vision for Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Geisinger Wyoming Valley. Dedicated FTE support is provided for leadership responsibilities, alongside ongoing clinical practice in pulmonary and critical care.

Job Duties:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead recruitment efforts to build and sustain a high‑performing clinical team
  • Drive program development and service line growth
  • Ensure alignment with best practices across pulmonary and critical care medicine
  • Champion site‑specific innovation


Serve as Medical Director of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, including:

  • Oversight of quality reviews and morbidity & mortality processes for critical care medicine
  • Coordination with performance improvement, patient safety, and infection control teams
  • Collaboration with nursing, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, and administrative leadership
  • Leadership of the Critical Care Committee
  • Oversight of regulatory compliance and Department of Health matters


Provide leadership oversight of pulmonary and critical care faculty, including:

  •  Performance evaluations
  •  Quality assessments and input for OPPE


This position reports to the Chair of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine.
