POSITION SUMMARY: Primarily responsible for providing customer service, ringing up, and bagging sales items. Exhibits the philosophy and standard of the store with customers. Reports and helps resolve service and sales issues as required and requested. Learns all aspects of the store’s operations and customer service processes. Develops customer relationships. Responsible for completing sales, serving customers, maintaining store appearance, stocking, merchandising, taking inventory, and working with a close-knit team, in coordination with the store manager. Participates in helping the store meet its goals.

Requirements

Knowledge

• Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and mathematical functions.
• Experience in running a cash register.
• At least one year of experience in retail, preferred.

Skills

• Good verbal communication skills.
• Good customer service skills.
• Basic computer and math skills.

Abilities

• Ability to recall and follow instructions, guidelines, and regulations.
• Ability to effectively interact with the general public.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision.
• Willingness and ability to remain flexible as the demands of the job and the store change.
• Ability to multi-task, i.e. ability to pick up where left off when changing from one task to another.
