Job Summary:
Â
The Trackman is a physically demanding position responsible for ensuring the track, bridgework, and railroad right-of-way are in good repair to provide safe and efficient railroad operations for passengers and employees.

The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay: $21.20 an Hour
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
Â
- Fully understand and support Xanterra's Mission Statement Core Values and Cultural Pillars.
- Responsible for ensuring the railroad and right-of-way are in good repair and provide for safe and efficient railroad operations.
- Responsible for replacing railroad ties and rails as directed.
- Assists in repair of bridges and culverts where needed and as directed.
- Responsible for cleaning right-of-way as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Â
- Minimum of one year’s work experience in a labor or construction position.
- At least 19 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous railroad experience.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Heavy work, lifting and pulling up to 70 pounds occasionally and up to 100 pounds on a rare basis.
- Stop/bend/kneel/crouch/balance/climb on an occasional basis.
- Walking long distances over uneven terrain
- Must meet auditory and visual acuity/tracking/inspection thresholds.
- Exposure to equipment that intensifies the heat factor on an occasional basis.
