The Department of Data Science at William & Mary, a public university of the Commonwealth of Virginia, invites applications for a 3 year, non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor instructional position that will begin August 10, 2026. This full-time teaching faculty appointment carries a service component commensurate with rank and comes with the possibility of ongoing renewals and a framework for promotion.We seek an individual with expertise in Data Science (including applications of computational methods to physical, social or humanities disciplines), with the background to teach in one or more of the following areas: ethics of data science, data visualization, applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning, and statistics.
The successful applicant will be expected to be an effective teacher and will have a [3-3] teaching load.

Required Qualifications:
A MA or MS in Computational Sciences (including applications of computational methods to physical, social, or humanities disciplines), Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Computational Sciences (including applications of computational methods to physical, social, or humanities disciplines), Data Science, Computer Science or a related field at the time appointment begins, or ABD is preferred at the time appointment begins (August 10, 2026).
Previous teaching experience.
