Civil Construction Project Manager

The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Civil Division Project Manager to lead site development projects for commercial, retail, and industrial construction projects. Our Civil Division focuses on the essential groundwork that makes these projects possible - including earthwork (grading, leveling, and site preparation), installation of utilities and infrastructure, and environmental improvements such as retention ponds, stormwater management, and other site sustainability features.

You will oversee all project activities from pre-construction through closeout, manage teams and subcontractors, control budgets and schedules, and serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders. This is a high-impact leadership role where safety, quality, and client satisfaction are non-negotiable.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee the full project lifecycle for site/civil development projects—ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery while meeting drawings, specs, and company standards
• Lead and motivate site teams, including Project Management Assistants and field personnel
• Handle contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, and scheduling (including weekly 3-week look-aheads and monthly master schedule updates)
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, engineers, local authorities, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Drive safety compliance and maintain a zero-incident mindset on every job site
• Track costs, prepare budget reports, manage payments/billings, and deliver successful project closeouts
• Provide hands-on problem-solving and technical guidance when challenges arise

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
• 5+ years of project management experience in construction, with strong preference for site/civil work (earthwork, utilities, stormwater management, grading, etc.)
• Proven ability to read and interpret contracts, plans, specifications, and schedules
• Proficiency with project management software (Procore, MS Project, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
• A safety-first mindset and thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations
• The adaptability to thrive in a dynamic environment and the initiative to get things done
