The Enrollment Counselor will perform a broad range of duties to meet the needs of the undergraduate main campus program. This includes student recruitment, assisting in the admission process, conducting campus recruitment events, building relationships with high school guidance counselors, and communicating with students and their families.

This person will have excellent interpersonal communication skills and public speaking skills. The position demands flexibility, the ability to be a dynamic team player, and critical thinking skills. The Enrollment Counselor will perform a broad range of duties to meet the needs of the undergraduate main campus program. This includes student recruitment, assisting in the admission process, conducting campus recruitment events, building relationships with high school guidance counselors, and communicating with students and their families. The Enrollment Counselor will be expected to manage a recruitment territory and some overnight travel will be required.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Must possess good people skills and the ability to communicate in all mediums including phone calls, presentations, email, text, social media, written correspondence, and face to face communication

  • Proficient in computer literacy and knowledgeable of Microsoft Office

  • Must show initiative, adaptability, resourcefulness, dependability, and ability to take action

  • Customer service experience is preferred

  • Excellent analytical and writing skills

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, as office hours and work times are often based on student needs.

  • Will require some weekend work, as well as day, and overnight travel

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages admission process including inquiries, applications, correspondence, collection of documents and maintaining admissions data

  • Responsible for the management of an assigned geographic territory or specified population. This may include planning travel logistics, making reservations for accommodations, scheduling one-on-one meetings, college fairs or other recruitment events, and submitting detailed expense reports

  • Discussing financial aid with prospective students and families

  • Use of Client Relationship Management (CRM) tool and other software that will aid in recruitment and communication to students 

  • Assist in any campus event we are asked to help with

  • Assist with summer orientations or other programs on campus

  • Communicate effectively with applicants in a timely manner

  • Provides thorough knowledge of the University, academic departments, programs, curricula, methods of program delivery, and expectations

  • Collaboration with academic departments and administration on a regular basis and ability to build/maintain positive relationships

  • Provide prompt and efficient customer service

  • Learn and execute new information and data processes that are required to meet needs of the department

  • Receive and upload student admissions documents

  • Performs other duties as assigned
