Qualifications

  • Master鈥檚 degree in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical human services specialty), or a related field.
  • Bachelor鈥檚 degree in the same fields plus one year of clinical experience.
  • Associate鈥檚 degree in the same fields plus two years of clinical experience.
  • Full certification as an addictions counselor from a recognized statewide or national certification body.
  • Current RN licensure in the Commonwealth, graduation from an accredited nursing program, plus one year of counseling experience.
  • Primary Responsibilities

    • Facilitate group therapy sessions under supervision and complete required documentation.
    • Conduct clinical reviews to assess client progress and determine continued treatment needs.
    • Collaborate with individual counselors and case management to coordinate ongoing care.
    • Maintain accurate, timely, and clear documentation of patient care, treatment plans, and incidents.
    • Provide crisis intervention support when needed.
    • Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to patient safety at all times.
    • Address and help resolve patient concerns to ensure a positive treatment experience.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    路 Conduct group and/or family sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and documents as required.

    路 Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions and assist with modifying problem behaviors.

    路 May be responsible for initial assessments, as well as follow up assessments for patients.

    路 May prepare individual treatment plan for each assigned patient.

    路 Ensure all documentation regarding patient care, treatment and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner.

    路 May act as a liaison between referral sources and patients.

    路 Provide crisis intervention to patients, as needed.

    路 May plan for aftercare for assigned patients.

    路 May act as a liaison with insurance carriers, as requested.

    路 May provide case management duties for patients, ensuring individualized quality care.

    路 Evaluate the need of the patient and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities is needed.

    路 Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

    OTHER FUNCTIONS:

    路 Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    路 High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in social or health services field preferred.

    路 Experience in counseling field instruction/internship or similar practicum through education or certification process required.

    LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

    路 Licensure or certification for counseling, as required by the state in which the facility operates; OR state license or certification eligible within the timeframe designated by the facility.

    路 CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).

    路 First aid may be required based on state or facility.

    ADDITIONAL REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:

    路 Completion of ongoing education and training, as required by the state in which the facility operates and applicable accrediting body.
