What you get to do:

As the Safety Specialist Sr. you will:

  • Report to the EHS Supervisor
  • Complete guest and ambassador accident investigations to determine root cause and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure that the accident investigation database is updated and that accidents requiring investigation are completed within the assigned timeframe.
  • Be able to run reports and collect data to present in monthly departmental safety meetings
  • Attend all safety meetings as required.
  • Conduct and assist with regular EHS inspections throughout the park to ensure that all departments are in compliance with SEA Safety policies & OSHA/EPA/DOT regulations and follow up on corrective actions
  • Other duties as assigned

What it takes to succeed:

  • 3 years of supervisory experience leading a team of diversely experienced and skilled workers required.
  • Demonstrated experience working with and advising multiple layers of management (supervisors through executives) required.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and reporting trends to leadership levels preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in safety or industrial hygiene or related experience preferred.
  • Proven computer skills in Microsoft or windows based programs required.
  • Over 2 years’ experience in safety, public liability or related fields preferred.
  • Over 2 years’ experience in a theme park operations preferred.
  • Speaking in front of large groups of people conducting annual environmental and OSHA compliance training.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.


What else is important:

  • Implementation and standardization of internal company programs.
  • Job safety analysis - conduct self-inspection programs, contactor safety audits, safety leadership participation assist the
  • E&S Manager in projects and programs such as the SEA Chemical Management Program & selection programs.
  • Conduct facility audits & inspections to ensure regulatory compliance, documentation & fire prevention efforts.
  • Regulatory compliance and company directive compliance such as OSHA - Lock-out tag out, Personal Protective
  • Equipment; Hearing Conservation, etc.
  • Facilitate accident investigation completion to ensure accident interviews and evidence gathering for both ambassador and guest incidents are completed timely.
  • Assist departments in understanding employee target injuries, trend analysis, root cause analysis and take action once root cause is identified.
  • Identify areas and trends of guest injury and coordinate corrective action.
  • Understand chemical safety.
