Our client is seeking a Senior AV Technician / Lead Installer to support commercial audio/video projects across the Greater Hampton Roads and Richmond areas.
This is a hands-on, field-based role where you’ll lead installations ranging from single-room setups to fully integrated building systems. You’ll own project outcomes while also mentoring junior technicians.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and complete commercial AV installations from start to finish
- Install and troubleshoot AV systems (displays, audio, control systems, cabling)
- Oversee job sites to ensure quality, safety, and timelines
- Build racks, manage structured cabling, and perform rough-ins
- Communicate with project teams, engineers, and clients
- Train and support junior technicians
- Travel locally to job sites as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial AV installation/troubleshooting experience
- 3+ years leading installations or crews
- Experience with AV systems such as:
- Flat panels, projectors
- 25/70V audio systems
- Control systems (Crestron, Extron, etc.)
- Video distribution, DSP, and IP-based AV
- Familiarity with structured cabling and construction environments
- Basic networking knowledge
- AVIXA CTS or similar certifications preferred
- Own basic tools and reliable transportation
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to pass background check (DCJS eligible)
- Comfortable working on ladders and using power tools
