Responsibilities
As a Volunteer Coordinator You will:   Â
- Develop and manage volunteer training and orientation programsÂ
- Recruit, educate, and select volunteers through multiple annual sessionsÂ
- Assess patient and family needs to match appropriate volunteer servicesÂ
- Supervise, support, and evaluate volunteers regularlyÂ
- Review and update the volunteer program as neededÂ
- Organize volunteer support and education meetingsÂ
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetingsÂ
- Promote hospice volunteer services to individuals and community groupsÂ
- Assist with budget planning for volunteer program developmentÂ
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory standardsÂ
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Prior experience in hospice and/or volunteer program management preferred.
- Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care.
- Ability to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel.
- Skill in planning and delivering volunteer training and orientation programs.
- Ability to assess patient and family needs for volunteer services.
- Skill in supervising and evaluating volunteer performance.
- Ability to coordinate support and educational meetings.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements related to hospice services.
- Ability to communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, community groups, and individuals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to contribute to budget planning and program development.
- Commitment to quality improvement and compliance activities.
