New River Community and Technical College is seeking a dedicated, student-centered Registered Nurse Educator to join our associate degree Nursing (ADN) Program. This is more than a teaching position — it is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on students, healthcare partners, and communities across West Virginia.

Our nursing faculty are at the heart of student success. You will guide students through classroom instruction, clinical experiences, skills labs, and high-fidelity simulation — helping them build the knowledge, confidence, and professional behaviors required to deliver safe, compassionate care.

What You’ll Do

Inspire & Educate

  • Deliver engaging instruction in classroom, clinical, skills lab, and simulation settings
  • Facilitate meaningful pre- and post-clinical conferences
  • Use innovative teaching strategies and instructional technology to enhance learning
  • Create organized, outcome-driven lesson plans aligned with course objectives

Mentor & Support Students

  • Provide timely, constructive feedback that promotes growth
  • Evaluate student performance and identify opportunities for remediation
  • Counsel and guide students throughout their academic journey
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and inclusive learning environment

Collaborate & Lead

  • Work closely with fellow nursing faculty and the Director of the ADN Program
  • Participate in curriculum development and student learning outcomes assessment
  • Serve as a liaison to healthcare partners and professional organizations
  • Contribute to admissions, advisory meetings, and program initiatives

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia
  • Minimum (10) years direct patient care experience in nursing
  • Two (2) or more years of teaching or equivalent experience
  • Experience teaching nursing theory and/or clinical skills

Education

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Nursing Education (MNEd)

OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) with enrollment in a graduate nursing program within one year of hire

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Community college teaching experience
  • Concept-based curriculum experience
  • Simulation and advanced instructional technology experience
  • Online or web-based course development experience
  • Curriculum design and assessment experience
