General Laborer - Full time & Great Benefits!

Department:   Production

Reports To:    Operations Manager

Status: Non-Exempt

Shift:    7am - 3:30pm


Description: Responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining the yard and all surrounding facilities. Assisting production and production technicians to ensure completion of daily operations. 


Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.  


  • Perform quality maintenance of yard and recycling building.*

  • Clear debris and trash from the yard and processing area for customers and equipment.*

  • Process tire and wheel assemblies including dismounting, pricing, and sorting.*

  • Sort materials recovered during the vehicle recycling process into appropriate containers for recycling.*

  • Clean and prep vehicles for the processing department.*

  • Set and/or remove vehicle inventory from the yard.*

  • Must be able to work outside in the elements.*

  • Prep cores for finalization and shipment after items have been removed from vehicles.*

  • Test, charge and recycle processed vehicle batteries.*

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.*

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience or knowledge in the automotive industry.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and talk or hear.  While doing this job the employee will be primarily on their feet for long periods of time.  The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  For heavier merchandise lifting devices and/or assistance is required.
