Imaging Services Student Technologist (Casual / 2nd‑Year Student)

This casual position is designed specifically for second‑year imaging students, offering valuable clinical exposure in a supportive environment.

What You’ll Do

As a Student Technologist, you will perform imaging-related tasks under the direct supervision of a registered technologist. This role allows you to apply your classroom learning, strengthen your clinical skills, and become familiar with the workflow of a professional imaging department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing imaging procedures and follow established protocols under the supervision of a Technologist or Radiologist.
  • Depending on modality, operate imaging equipment for acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and proper documentation of image data.
  • Perform daily equipment checks, warm‑up routines, and basic Quality Control steps under Technologist supervision.
  • Help set up contrast for procedures (without loading or priming the injector).
  • Support safe radiation practices and help obtain quality images while following all radiation safety standards.
  • Assist with patient positioning and exam preparation (students will not hold detectors or patients during radiation exams).
  • Manage workflow tasks in the Radiology Information System, including arriving patients, tracking studies, scanning scripts, and scheduling exams.
  • Support Technologists and Radiologists during modality‑specific exams as appropriate.
  • Maintain clinical proficiency and stay current on all required competencies and equipment skills.

Must be an active 2nd year student in ARRT, ARDMS, CNMT, or NMCTB approved school.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
 

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
