Position: Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant
Location: 1705 Warren Avenue
Schedule: Days/Early Evenings, Monday through Friday

UPMC Rehabilitation Institute – Costello Center is seeking a passionate and skilled PTA to join our dynamic team. If you have previous experience in an outpatient setting, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Exceptional Care: Deliver physical therapy treatments in accordance with the plan of care established by the physical therapist. Recommend changes based on patient condition and response to treatment.
  • Maintain Order: Keep work areas neat and orderly, and direct therapy volunteers.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform necessary clerical responsibilities as required by the facility.
  • Patient Transport: Safely and professionally transport patients using prescribed transport vehicles.

Qualifications:

  • Previous PTA experience in an outpatient facility is preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to implement treatment programs effectively.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association with an associates degree as a physical therapist assistant.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Physical Therapist Assistant OR Physical Therapist Assistant Indirect Supervision
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
