Job Title: Summer Day Camp Program Manager
Reports to: Summer Camp Lead, Recreation Coordinator
SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Summer Camp Lead, Recreation
Coordinator, the Summer Camp Program Manager will be responsible for
implementing quality programming and activities for the summer camp
program hosting approximately 53 campers ranging in age from 6-13. The
Camp Program Manager will oversee all on-site camp staff and camper
activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DlITIES:
• Implement high quality programming and activities for the City of
Williamsport's summer day camp sites through innovation and the sharing
of resources
• Maintain a functioning, safe and positive physical space for the youth,
including: ensuring all supplies are available and maintained, furniture
and equipment is maintained, maintenance requests are sent, camp sites
are cleaned regularly and needed resources are identified and obtained
• Participate in staff training and meetings
• Work with Recreation Director and Summer Camp Curriculum Manager,
camp site staff and parents when there are camper discipline problems
• Maintain a high standard of health and safety in all activities for campers
and staff
• Set a positive example for camp site staff and campers
• Other duties may be assigned as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRMENTS:
• Ability to work with diverse staff, parents and community members
• Experience with conflict resolution and/or crisis management
• Ability to implement and supervise a positive learning environment while
incorporating enriching programming
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and
passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and
multidisciplinary project skills
• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age
• Required clearances: Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check and
Pennsylvania Child Abuse History
• Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable and innovative approach to
planning
• Exhibit characteristics of: adaptability, leadership, responsibility, patience,
dependability, integrity, and display a positive attitude every day
• You must have reliable transportation to and from work
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a field environment; may be exposed to individuals who are
difficult. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Subject to irregular work schedule.
