Job Description

This position contributes to the manufacturing of quality blow molding machines, auxiliary equipment and all sub-assemblies with the use of power and hand tools, precision tools, and any other required tools and/or equipment by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Build or manufacture to drawing, bill of material, all items to established production quality and quantity as scheduled.  Proficient use of precision measuring equipment.

Confer with supervisors, engineering, production personnel or others to resolve manufacturing problems.  Report shortages of parts, tools, and materials in a timely manner.

Operate power equipment and material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.).

Must have personal hand tools to perform tasks effectively

Familiarity with computers.

Develop specifications from general description and draw sketch of part or product to be manufactured.

Ability to work with metric and inch system.

Responsible for submitting daily time accounting and payroll information or other paperwork requested.

Performs all tasks with minimal supervisory and/or engineering assistance. 

Qualifications

Journeyman Welder Certification or four (4) to eight (8) years' job related experience and/or equivalent education and experience. 

Capable of welding/fabricating sub-assemblies and/or final machine assembly with use of routers, drawings, and bill of material with minimal assistance.

Capable of making hand drawings of components. Documents changes as needed on routings, drawings, and bill of material. 

Ability to perform all basic work for fabrication, welding, and sheet metal including structural fabrications. 

Knowledge and use of all types of fasteners and some fittings. 

Assists in building of prototype equipment. 

Ability to layout for forming, drilling, tapping, pinning, etc. 

Advanced knowledge and ability to apply metallurgy for distortion control and welding procedures. 

Proficient in flame straightening and three (3) dimensional layout for sheet metal, building of prototypes, builds jigs and fixtures. 

Minimum requirement of 4 years of job related experience.

Assists the department supervisor with meeting a predetermined schedule and development of future schedules including coordination of manpower and projects assigned.

Leadership experience preferred.

Must have personal hand tools to perform tasks effectively.

Ability to use mainframe computer.

Ability to work with metric and standard inch system.
