Shipping & Receiving Clerk (Manufacturing)

Job Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing materials in a manufacturing facility. This role ensures accurate inventory control, timely shipment of finished goods, and proper handling of raw materials while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
• Unload trucks using equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks
• Accurately label, store, and organize materials in designated warehouse locations
• Prepare, package, and ship finished goods according to customer specifications
• Generate and maintain shipping documents (BOLs, packing lists, labels, etc.)
• Coordinate with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure material availability
• Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and system updates
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards
• Report damaged or missing items and resolve discrepancies
• Keep shipping and receiving areas clean and organized

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing environment preferred
• Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Basic computer skills (ERP systems, shipping software, Microsoft Office)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to read and interpret shipping documents

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
• Work in a fast-paced, sometimes dusty or non-climate-controlled environment

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing/warehouse setting
• Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures
• Requires adherence to PPE and safety protocols
