Welder B

Velan Valves has been proud to be part of the Williston community since 1978. As part of Velan North America, we manufacture valves for military, nuclear, and specialized commercial applications.

We are currently seeking qualified individual to join our team as Welder B on 1st shift. The ideal candidate will have experience with safety, operation efficiency and cleanliness as well as be a role model to others.

Primary Function:

To be able to preform welding and hardsurfacing operations on component parts, sub-assembles and assemblies of the more complex nature required by the company product, specified on Engineering drawings, sketches written or oral instructions to meet code criteria in accordance with Velan Q.A. Manual. Utilizing all type of welding equipment to maximum efficiency within maximum safety conditions with minimum supervision.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of one year experience on all types of manual or automatic welding and hardsurfacing processes.
• Set-up and operate all manual and automatic welding equipment to produce work of an accepted quality at an acceptable pace.
• Read and understand Engineering drawings, shop orders or special instructions and perform tasks described in these instructions using appropriate procedure and techniques.
• Check and control tolerances and special requirements of first piece to be accepted by inspections and continue to producing with periodical checks on dimensions and drawing conformance to ensure a zero rejections rate.
• Complete all paperwork as required by Velan Q.A. program and/or Supervisor. Welding required to practice good safety habits at all times, maintain tidy work area and perform simple maintenance on equipment.
