The Role:Â The Peer Respite Team Lead provides direct service and supervises several peer support staff at a home that is welcoming and comfortable. The team provides excellent, consistent, and equitable peer mental health services and ensures the staff they support do as well. The team lead will assist the manager in ensuring the program meets its goals, funding requirements, and adheres to agency values.Â

Schedule:Â Full time, non-exempt hourly employee (35-40 hours per week), evening and overnight hoursÂ

Responsibilities:Â
Recruit, hire, and provide ongoing support to peer staff providing services second and third shiftÂ
Provide excellent, consistent and equitable peer support services to individuals staying at the peer respite.Â
 Participate in and oversee team’s training in Intentional Peer Support, agency core competencies and team specific learning.Â
Participate in the intake process by connecting with prospective guests, welcoming them to the house, and reviewing house processes and norms with them.Â
Provide guests with accurate and relevant information related to the program and service provision.Â
As requested by the manager, participate in community outreach and education about the program and supports.Â
Maintain a house that is welcoming, comfortable and clean. Prepare bedrooms for new guests, participate in daily cleaning tasks (i.e. vacuuming, sweeping, dishes, laundry, etc.)Â
Attendance at the annual All Staff and Programmatic Retreats is an expectation of employment with Pathways Vermont, unless excused by the employee’s manager/HR.
Support daily operations by ensuring consistent shift coverage including planned time-off and unexpected absences.Â
Participate in recruitment and hiring of supervisees.Â
Provide weekly supervision of supervisees and ensure they are meeting role requirements and expectations.Â
Complete introductory and annual reviewsÂ
Support team members experiencing challenges by participating in work improvement plans, written warnings, including leadership in regular meetings, etc.Â
Participate in agency leadership conversations including committee work
On-call responsibilities

Requirements:Â
Personal experience of mental health distress, extreme states, plans or thoughts of dying by suicide, or other experience that others may label as a mental health challenge requiredÂ
Capacity to work weekendsÂ
This position works afternoon, evening and nighttime hoursÂ
Experience supervising preferredÂ
Experience in residential programs preferredÂ
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to Pathways Vermont’s missionÂ

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:Â
Occasional operation of a computer and other office machineryÂ
Occasional repetitive movement of hands and fingers including substantial movements of wrists, hands and fingers for typing and/or writing, grasping paperwork, using technology equipment and other tasksÂ
Frequent talking and participation in exchanging ideas through spoken word as well as ability to hear and receive detailed information through oral communication â—Ź Occasional sedentary work in a seated positionÂ
Significant levels of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching, reaching with hands and arms and light lifting while participating in daily cleaning and food preparation activities at the houseÂ
Occasionally lifting and carrying 30-40 pounds for participating in daily activities at the house, grocery shopping, etc.Â
Occasional utilization of close visual acuity and reading from a computer screen, must be able to read information captured in type and free hand formÂ
Possible need to run and ambulate at a fast speed while following guest â—Ź Frequent exposure to outside environmental conditions (all seasons) in accompanying guests in the community and outingsÂ
Frequent exposure to high levels of noise and/or persons presenting in distress
Potential exposure to blood and/or bodily fluids while overseeing a house and supporting individuals who may participate in physical self-harmÂ
Compensation:Â
Full-Time Hourly Non-Exempt Position
$ 27-29 per hour
