Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Safely set-up and operate CNC machines while producing quality ceramic cores in accordance with standard operating procedures and customer supplied specifications.


Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Follow documented job specific work instructions
  • Set up fixtures and safely operate CNC machines to produce quality ceramic cores
  • Possess knowledge of machining functions, operation buttons and switches
  • Capable of securing product and operating stops and guides for proper product alignment
  • Visually inspect product and identify defects
  • Maintain required documentation and paperwork
  • Produce quality ceramic cores, meeting production goals and quality requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation
  • Communicate effectively with manager, lead person, quality inspectors, engineering, and fellow operators
  • Assure proper completion of end of shift duties including production reporting, required TPM, and 6S activities
  • Know and follow all company safety rules and regulations


Education, Prior Work Experience, Specialized Skills, Knowledge Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Strong mechanical aptitude 
  • Use of precision measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness to work independently
  • Excellent attendance & dependability a must
  • Willingness to cross-train in other company job functions is expected


Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Ability to stand entire 8-hour shift (plus overtime, when required)
  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal; reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • Working in a manufacturing environment


Equipment Used:

CNC machines, various product fixtures and mounting equipment, handheld inspection loop, various diamond reamers and carbide drills, precision measuring tools, computer keyboard and scanner
