About Us:

At TDA, our dedication to excellence in architectural design for educational and civic projects drives our every endeavor. We are on the lookout for a Business Development individual responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities that align with the firm's strategic growth goals, with an emphasis on the K–12 education, higher education, civic, and athletic markets.

The ideal candidate brings an understanding of the architecture/engineering/construction (AEC) industry, excellent relationship-building skills, and a strategic mindset for pursuing work in both public and private sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan focused on K–12 school districts, civic entities, and higher education institutions.This includes market research, competitor analysis, and funding requirements. 
  • Identifyand cultivate new leads and opportunities through research, networking, and outreach.
  • Build andmaintainstrong relationships with key decision-makers including school administrators, district officials, facilities directors, and municipal leaders.
  • Collaborate with principals, project managers, andcommunicationsstaff to position the firm for upcoming opportunities.
  • Work with communications colleagues toinformanddeterminepoints of emphasis for each proposal. 
  • Representthe firm at industry events, conferences, and community meetings.
  • Track activity inCRM systems and produce regular reports on business development activity and results.
  • Stay informed on market trends, policy changes, and funding opportunities thatimpactschool and public sector capital projects.
  • Seeks/creates opportunities to expand business with current clientsin partnership with project managers;identifiesfurther business needs and develops and presents solutions.
  • In collaboration with project managers,growsexisting accountsto full potential andgeneratesmaximum revenue on a long-term basis.
  • Performs other relatedduties asassignedby management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field (experience in lieu of degree will be considered).
  • 5+ years of experience in business developmentwith a record of proven success, preferably in the AEC industry.
  • Strong network within the K–12 education, civic, and/or higher education sectorsis highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Self-motivated, with aproactive and professional demeanor.
  • Familiarity with public procurement processes and government contracting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of regional educational trends, facilities planning processes, and funding cycles.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changingpriorities with enthusiasm.
  • Proficiencywith CRM software.

Work Environment & Travel: This role is generally office-based, with regular local travel to prospect meetings, project sites, client events, and stakeholder engagements.
