Job DetailsJob Location: The Fine Arts Association - WILLOUGHBY, OH 44094Position Type: Part TimeThe Fine Arts Association seeks a qualified, passionate and creative artist to join our team of talented Visual Arts Faculty members. Description: This is a part-time teaching position. The amount of hours available is flexible but will not exceed 10 hours per week initially, though there is room for future growth. Teaching will usually occur in the evening after 3:45. Responsibilities: Facilitate engaging, age appropriate visual art lessons that are based in cognitive and creative learning goals outlined in State Visual Arts Education Standards. Acknowledge students as individuals and communicate with them and/or their caregivers effectively on their unique learning paths and goals in the visual arts. Potential Opportunities: Facilitate a new Focus on Drawing series of classes for students, ages elementary to adult: Applicants should be qualified to teach a 2d, technical skill focused program highlighting perspective, value study, composition, proportions, and color theory by putting them into practice in original works of art with a range of drawing media. Genres required include: landscape and/or cityscape, figure and/or portrait, still life, and botanical and/or animal Illustration. Facilitate private lessons as needed Facilitate upcoming private or small group lessons in digital art Facilitate Multi-Arts Camps as needed Substitute teaching as needed Application Instructions: Submit the following to Director of Education, Michael Lund Ziegler at mlundziegler@fineartsassociation.org: 1. Position will remain open until filledQualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Hold or be working toward a degree in a Visual Art Field and/or Visual Art Education Exemplary drawing ability with a strong understanding of visual art concepts in general Teaching experience Excellent Communication Skills Portfolio or examples of a diverse body of work in a variety of media demonstrating drawing skill Preferred Qualifications: An ideal candidate would have teaching experience with students of diverse backgrounds and ability levels.
