Job Title: Milling Machinist (2nd Shift)


Job Type: Full-Time


Department: Manufacturing / Machine Shop


Position Summary:
 The Milling machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining milling machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
 • Set up and operate CNC and manual milling machines to produce high-precision parts
 • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions
 • Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials
 • Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and program edits as needed
 • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM tools if applicable)
 • Maintain tight tolerances and quality standards throughout production
 • Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements
 • Maintain equipment through routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance
 • Document production activities, inspect results, and report deviations
 • Follow safety standards and ensure a clean, organized work area

Qualifications:
 • High school diploma or technical school certification in machining or manufacturing technology
 • 2+ years of experience in CNC milling (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
 • Ability to read technical drawings and apply GD&T principles
 • Strong experience with precision measurement tools
 • Basic understanding of CNC programming (G-code) preferred
 • Familiarity with materials such as steel, aluminum, and plastics
 • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills
 • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills:
 • Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360)
 • Experience with multi‑axis machining
 • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methods

Physical Requirements:
 • Ability to lift 40 lbs routinely
 • Ability to stand for extended periods
 • Manual dexterity for handling small parts and tools
