The Staff Accountant supports the monthly close and financial reporting process, helping ensure accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with accounting standards. This role assists with maintaining accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting procedures to support operational efficiency and accuracy. The position also prepares financial analyses, reconciliations, variance reporting, and other reporting activities to support business decisions. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Staff Accountant helps resolve accounting issues and contributes to ongoing finance and operational improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Monthly Close & Financial Reporting Process: Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to assist with the timely and accurate completion of the monthly close process and financial reporting requirements.
  • Assist with Process Improvement Initiatives: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency. Support implementation of process and system enhancements.
  • Maintain Accounting Policies & Procedures: Assist in documenting and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure consistency and compliance with company standards.
  • Prepare Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare account reconciliations, variance analyses, forecasting support schedules, and other financial reports to support management reporting and decision-making.
  • Support Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis: Assist with ad-hoc reporting requests and analyses for management and business partners.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with finance and cross-functional departments to resolve accounting-related matters and ensure timely communication of financial information.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • 1–3 years of professional accounting experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Strong Excel proficiency required, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and other advanced functions.
  • Experience with ERP/ledger systems and business intelligence tools preferred; experience with Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, or EPM is a plus.

The expected salary range for this position is $65,000 to $70,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law.
