Unique Teaching Opportunity: Project-Based Learning Teacher

Vine Academy, a small private school in Burr Ridge, is seeking a teacher for a unique course for the 2026-2027 school year working with students in grades K-6. In this course, students develop executive functioning skills, skills critical for the real world of work, through a project-based format. In these small group classes of just nine students, students learn to manage time, break a project into parts, plan out an idea, and bring that idea into reality. Students create dioramas, posters, budgets, data tables, presentations, and much more. Projects touch on subject areas from all across the curriculum from math and science to history and creative writing.

As a projected learning teacher, you’ll work with students on how to manage time, turn a big task into a series of tasks, and make a plan for each project. You’ll constantly meet with students to provide feedback on projects, helping them improve on their work every step of the way. You’ll be their guide as they develop not only executive functioning skills but also grit and problem-solving skills.

This role is open to those who have years of experience with teaching as well as those who are seeking a career change to teaching or seeking a teaching degree.
