Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor plans, administers, and supervises the warehouse workforce to complete daily warehouse activities and to meet daily productivity standards. Ensures that a safe and healthy work environment is maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises warehouse employees to ensure daily shipping and receiving activities are completed
  • Audits outbound freight to ensure correct merchandise is being shipped
  • Controls the equipment inspection process to ensure the equipment is safe and in working condition
  • Inspects the warehouse fire equipment to ensure all regulations are met
  • Plans and executes projects as directed by the Regional Distribution Center Manager
  • Trains warehouse workers in regard to warehousing activities
  • Maintains accurate time keeping for warehousemen, and pre-authorizes overtime. Plans, schedules, and supervises all dock and staging area activities
  • Works closely with inventory control to ensures inventory accuracy by monitoring product movements, confirming location usage and auditing inventory movement
  • Frequently audits warehouse activity to make sure all internal safety requirements are being met as well as OSHA guidelines are being followed by employees and anyone working on site

  • Must be able to interact with other employees in a professional manner
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple projects with attention to detail
  • Strong team player
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job
  • Proficient computer skills and with Microsoft Office
  • Experienced forklift operator – multiple types of machines and multiple types of attachments is a plus

Education and Experience

  • Two to Three years of experience in warehouse operations and inventory control environment
  • Solid understanding of shipping and receiving processes are required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with RF devices and a solid understanding of a WMS is preferred
  • Two to Three years experience supervising a diverse team in a fast paced environment

Physical Requirements

  • Standing 2-4 hours a day
  • Lift 20-49 lbs
  • Computer use 6-8 hours a day
