Job Description: 

This position will be responsible for providing Electrical Engineering systems support and development to customer-funded programs within our Space Systems and Imaging business unit of L3Harris Corporation.  Our Space Systems and Imaging products serve a broad array of government, civil and commercial customers by enhancing information superiority, contributing to our national security and providing actionable data for the protection of property and human life. We specialize in high-reliability space-based imaging payloads and end-to-end systems that offer active and motion imaging and data processing, exploitation and dissemination. We also provide solutions that map and monitor the earth and stars for a variety of commercial and governmental users.

 

 

Essential Functions:  

  • Design electrical control systems and subsystems from customers or internal specifications, including motor specifications and design
  • Participate and contribute in technical reviews
  • Design, develop, and test/validate high reliability motor control subsystems
  • Create and maintain electrical architecture working with cross discipline teams 
  • Derives specifications and creates requirement flow down
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Professional experience with DOORs, SPICE, MathCAD, Matlab, Simulink, Allegro and MentorGraphics tools
  • Professional experience reading and interpreting specifications and requirements
  • 5+ years of Controls Engineering background with small, high-reliability systems, including analysis

 

 

Preferred Additional Skills: 

  • Active Security Clearance is preferred
  • Experience leading teams and project designs
  • Problem-solving skills with ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with commonly used test equipment including but not limited to Oscilloscopes and DMMs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to make technically sound architecture decisions to guide development

 

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $127,500.00 - $236,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
