Basic Function:
This position is responsible for assisting with the development, leadership and administration of all aspects of a successful NCAA Division III women’s volleyball program.
Reports to: Head Women’s Volleyball Coach
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in the recruitment of quality student-athletes while maintaining roster expectations
- Maintains awareness of and adheres to College, NCAA and OAC rules and regulations
- Assists in monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes
- Assists in practice to optimize team and individual skill development
- Assists in scheduling home and away contests
- Assists in coordinating travel and assists supervising team members during off-campus travel
- Assists in fundraising initiatives that support the program’s budget
- Performs secondary duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
Performance Standards:
- Performs responsibilities and meets identified objectives in an efficient manner and strives to fulfill the college’s strategic plan.
- Works positively in a collaborative role within the Athletic Department and with other College stakeholders.
- Strives for excellence in performance of responsibilities and expectations of providing a positive athletic experience for student-athletes.
- Knows and abides by College and department policies, guidelines, procedures and expectations.
Qualifications:
- Related bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of college or related coaching experience.
- Evidence of excellent coaching and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit and retain quality student-athletes.
- Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with a diverse population.
